Talent vs Skill

*one swearing word. :c
Honestly, this video truly goes through my heart and in my soul. I just love how they spoke about success and failure, the quote that I love most in here is "Just because you failed, doesn't make you a failure." I feel that this quote is awfully true, many times in my life I have failed and felt like a failure. But now I know that I have to fail, because failure is a stepping stone to success.
More quotes:
"There are sometimes when things aren't going to go right. They just aren't going to go right."
"They're are times when anything that can happen will happen."
"You gotta believe in yourself."
"You gotta believe in your abilities."
"You gotta have faith and that faith gives you patience."

How to be SUCCESSFUL

How Bad Do You Want It

This video is about a guy trying to accomplish his dream by hard working, never give up and the spirit of how he want that thing done . He train himself everyday, he want to be the best football player or he want to make it in the team. He want to be successful! Everyone want to be successful, but they don't want it so bad! "When you want to succeed , as bad as you want to breath, then you'll be successful" . "Most of you say you want to be successful, but you don't want it bad , you just kind of want it ." Most of you don't want to success as much as you want to sleep. somebody lose sleep while they are success," " If you ain't to be successful , you got to willing to give up sleep". "If you really want to be successful, someday you'll  have to stay up for 3 days in a roll, because if you go to sleep you might miss the opportunity to be successful that's how bad you have to know." This words inspire me so much, when I was doing a project ,  I give up easily when I think it's too hard. I need the passion to want this thing to be done , you need to actual work on it!

THAT HOW YOU'RE GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

Creativity

A quote that I thought stood out to me was “Creativity takes courage. ” ― Henri Matisse. It was something that I could relate to as I am sometimes afraid to take the extra step to make my work better. I'm sure people out there are also hesitant about thinking outside the box, only thinking about all the negative feedback that they will receive, and as a result of that, their work is mediocre. It's hard to realize that creativity needs courage and the willingness to share your work. I usually don't think that highly of creativity as I don't really put that much thought into it. Now, since I have learned more about it and know what it takes to make creativity, I appreciate it much more and think more highly of the authors of creativity.

Soccer

Soccer
The club that i joined is soccer. Im a bit passionated by how i played. I did'nt want to make the team because im busy after school. But im able to try out and play for a while. Theres a lot of players, but i did'nt let that overwhlemed me. I wanted to play striker but i still want to play midfield, cause my team need me to defend. When i was playing, i realized making the soccer team could be fun, and it would be a challenge for me to play against big kids. But then again, im busy after school and im lucky enough to try out for soccer.

Clubs

Volleyball

The club that I joined was volleyball. The try-outs were really hectic as there were more than 30 great players there. After learning that I made the first cut, then the team, made me ecstatic. I got to play a sport that I extremely enjoyed while improving my skills and I met new people. Then again, there were also cons of making the team. The practices/games after school took out the time of working on my homework, baseball and hanging out with friends. I also realized that there were 14 people on the team. There was only one team; how was that going to work? After playing a few games, I realized that a lot of people were upset as they barely even got to play in any of the games. It kind of made me think that if there were less people, no one would be that upset because they would still get to play a couple rounds. It was also crazy how many people were taken out during the games because of one mistake. Mistakes are proof that everyone is trying, is it not? Our last game is around the beginning of November and hopefully, something will change and it will be different.

Theater

In theater, we call ourselves the Hawk Players. We have meetings on Mondays and Thursdays after school till 4:30 or whenever Ms.Thibault dismisses us. For rehearsal's, it's Wednesdays and Fridays. We are going to present 5 plays, these plays are called together  Table talk. I'm not sure what our logo is going to be but the 5 plays are: As angels watch, Reservations for two, Pu pu surprise, Awkward silence, and Personally Speaking. There are only 3 grade 8 students that are hawk players (That I know of). I plan on staying in theater group till grade 12 because, for me I tend to like performing for others. Therefore making them laugh or entertaining them, in my elementary school we have an improv club where we do tiny skits with 30 seconds of preporation and we need to see which group has the criteria of what the judges (teachers) are looking for. Although theater is the only club I am joining, I might join MUN next year or Free the Children next year. Although, being a Hawk Player is very hard. Ms.Thibault says that sometimes we need to stay and do rehearsals or meetings till 10 or 11 pm.  Though, I might look forward to other clubs such as badminton or volleyball. Although I don't think the sports teams are clubs but it's close enough.

LEO CLUB

LEO club is the best club I'd (Ryan L.) ever joined,it's fun, interesting and it helps lots of communities. To begin with, LEO stand for LEADERSHIP, EXPERIENCE and OPPORTUNITY. We have our meeting every Tuesday at lunch. I'd been the meeting twice, it's so crowded and noisy before we start. The president of LEO club is Alice. She is good at presenting and make the meeting full of excitement. She told us some informations about what LEO club is and it's free to join. We can get volunteer hours by contribute and participate in the club, our first chance of getting the volunteer hour is by making a advertisement poster for LEO club. I work with one of my friend and we'll both end up getting a hour of volunteering. I also make a 3D model on my own , she told me that I'll get extra volunteer hours !!!!
It will be put on the wall inside the school ( It took me 3 days to finish it, but it's fun) .
Moreover, at the second meeting, we were discussing about the candy sale at Halloween. We will sale the candies at lunch when it's Halloween and we are going to make a huge poster after school (I sign up both of them) . I'm so excited about the events they have. I heard that there will be like car wash and other fun events. We donate money to the communities that need it. ( For instance, we can donate to the people who is homeless ). I love to help the others , it make me feel happy .
Finally, joining LEO club lets me have things to go after school. For example, usually I have nothing to do after I finish my homework, now i can work on something fun and earn volunteer hours! At school, I try my best to convince the others to join LEO club. First i'll have friend with me. Second, we will learn a lots of things in this club. Third , the more people join this club , that mean the more people we help . I feel like it's going to be more interesting in the future.I'm really having fun and wish i can get lots of volunteer hours from this club.

Visting MUN.

This week I, Chantel Nguyen, went to go visit the club Model United Nations or, shortly and more commonly known as MUN. When I first walked into room I saw a lot of people, and from that point I knew that this would be a great club. Not only was there a large amount of people but there were also a lot of good thing said about this club from a few of my older friends that had previously joined this group, they really recommended it.
The leaders of the group began to explain what MUN was. At first it was difficult to understand due to the amount of people talking at the same time and the leaders were talking quite fast as well. Everyone soon settled down at it was just a bit better to understand the leaders, They began to go through the website and their Facebook page. People still began to be rude and continued to talk over the leaders, therefore it was still difficult to understand them. The leaders were incredibly patient with the other kids in the room, though they were extremely loud, the leaders continued to ask politely the other fellow students to quiet down. The leaders showed told us other students about the sign up page and where as well as what country to pick and how certain countries may be unavailable. They had also informed us about each event and where to pay for transportation. They told us about their "most fun event", which was the one of where we stay at a fancy hotel for 3 days and get together with other people from other countries and discuss our world problems. The main reason why this event is so fun, in their opinion was because you were able to dress up and make new friends as well as open up to other people, This hotel was located in Down Town, Vancouver and we had to pay about $110 to stay at the hotel for 3 days, unless you didn't want to sleep at the hotel then you could've paid a lower price. However, you would have to get to the hotel some how on your own, it obviously was not recommended due to the length from Surrey to Vancouver. They continued to discuss about the event. About three quarters through the meeting I left early because more and more people began to come in and it started to become extremely stuffy and I had to get out. I couldn't breathe and I started to get anxious. I left early without listening to the end because it couldn't breathe in the small room.
I ended up not joining the club because of the amount of information I received from the meeting, I did not understand enough to join, my other reason was because my mother does not have the time to pick me up from and after meetings and other occasions because of her busy and time consuming job.
Though I did not join, I still really enjoyed the meeting and soon hope to join it next year.
